Don't do things half way!

When I am growing up I did things half way. I never finish doing anything. I learn piano and I gave up half way. Even studying it is the same after my diploma I did not further my studies and get my degree. I also did it half way. But because of this I know how hard life is because I gave up half way and it affected my future.

I don't want my daughter to go through what I did so I kept on repeating it to her once you start something finish it. Do until the end and don't give up. For example when she decide to learned violin at 7 years old, I told her you can try. If you like it then learn until the end. After learning for few lessons she wants to give up and I told her give it some more time and don't give up easily. I told her if you want to give up then don't start in the first place. Once you start be persistent and follow through until the end.

I don't want her to regret it when she grew up and think to herself why didn't I continue learning. Why didn't my mum advise me? I don't want her to live her life regretting.

What I can do is to advise her and the rest is up to her. If she wants to stop I will respect her decision and in the future when she regret it, it is her own doing. Advise have been given and the end result is hers to bear.

So JY always remember what I said. When you decide to start something follow through the end and never give up. Don't do things half way through. You will regret is when you grow up. But when you have already tried very hard and you know that it won't work for you then it is fine to give up but never regret it when you have already given your 100%.

Through my life experience I hope that what I taught JY is correct. I know I am not perfect but I hope with this little things will help her to grow up to be a better person than I am.
